An FCT High Court in Abuja has sentenced 19-year-old schoolteacher, Abdullahi Abbass, to life imprisonment for raping a nine-year-old pupil in Kwali Area Council.

Justice Osho Adebiyi delivered the verdict, finding Abbass guilty of rape and sexual assault under Section 2 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015.
Details of the Case
According to case records, Abbass taught at a private school in Kwali. On March 19, 2025, he lured the victim after school hours. He allegedly sent another student to call the child, then took the pupil to his street, where he carried out the assault.
The victim later told his mother, who immediately reported the incident to the police. Officers arrested Abbass, and the case was transferred to NAPTIP for prosecution.
