National Universities Commission NUC has accredited the nursing program at Ajayi Crowther University ACU, Oyo, as well as eight other courses across five faculties.
NUC visited Ajayi Crowther University in October and November 2024 to accredit some of the university’s academic programs in accordance with Section 10 (1) of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of institutions) Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, which gives the NUC the authority to establish minimum academic standards for all academic programs in Nigerian universities and to accredit such programs.
In a letter, Abraham Chundusu, the acting director of accreditation at NUC, made the announcement on behalf of Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu, the executive secretary of the commission.
Nursing, Environmental Health Science, Christian Religious Studies, History and International Studies, Music, Performing Arts, Law, Mathematics, and Statistics have all received full certification, according to the NUC.
The committee also declared that ACU’s Master of Business Administration MBA program has received its accreditation.
ACU’s accomplishment reflects a dedication to academic and infrastructure growth throughout the years, according to Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Timothy Adebayo, who responded to the news by thanking the NUC for its transparency and efforts to enhance university education in Nigeria.
