Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has released the official schedule for its 15th Convocation Ceremony, which will take place in January 2026 across the Adeta and Atere campuses. The lineup features academic activities, religious observances, a high-profile lecture, awards, and project commissioning.
Convocation Activities Begin 2nd January 2026
The ceremony opens on Thursday, 2nd January 2026, with a Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing at 10:00am inside the Council Chambers, Adeta Campus.
Later that afternoon, the university will hold a Special Jumu’ah Service at 2:00pm at the University Mosque, also at the Adeta Campus.
These events formally set the tone for a week of celebration, academic reflection, and public engagement.

Convocation Lecture – 7th January 2026
The highlight of the convocation is the Convocation Lecture, scheduled for Tuesday, 7th January 2026, at the Moot Court, Atere Campus, by 10:00am.
Distinguished Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, Deputy Senate President of the National Assembly, will deliver the lecture titled:
“Managing Executive–Legislative Relations Towards Democratic Consolidation in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.”
Immediately after the lecture, the university will proceed with the Conferment of Honorary Degrees and the Award of First Degrees in the following areas:
- Agriculture
- Education
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Management Sciences
- Computing
- Diplomas and Special Prizes
Award of Degrees Continues on 8th January 2026
On Wednesday, 8th January 2026, the university will hold the second phase of the award ceremony at the same venue. Starting at 10:00am, the event will feature the conferment of degrees for graduates in:
- Basic Medical Sciences
- Nursing
- Law
- Natural and Applied Sciences
Higher Degrees and Special Prizes will also be awarded. Guests are encouraged to be seated by 9:30am.
Final Event: Project Commissioning
The convocation week will conclude with the Commissioning of Projects at 2:00pm on 8th January 2026, rounding off the university’s celebration of academic excellence and institutional growth.
Public Invitation and Livestream Access
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff, and Students, has extended a warm invitation to the general public and institutional stakeholders to attend the ceremony.
