The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has introduced a mandatory NDLEA Drug Integrity Test for all students. This decision follows a Federal Government directive aimed at strengthening drug-free campuses nationwide.

The university announced the new requirement in an official memo signed by Haj. Hadeeza Ibrahim Mailafia, Deputy Registrar (Academics). The directive applies to both new and returning students of the institution.

Important Registration Requirement
ATBU has made the submission of the drug test certificate mandatory for academic registration. Students must upload a soft copy of the NDLEA certificate to their university portal.
The memo clearly states that registration will not be valid until the uploaded certificate is verified.
Why This Matters
This policy supports national efforts to curb drug abuse in tertiary institutions. By enforcing drug screening, the university aims to promote a safe, healthy, and disciplined learning environment.
Final Notice to Students
All affected students should complete the process early to avoid delays in registration and academic activities.
