The Augustine Udefa Speaking Scholarship supports outstanding students in African higher education who demonstrate strong public speaking ability, clear thinking, leadership qualities and good character. It is open to students from any academic field and is connected to a competitive speaking contest organised by the Augustine Udefa Foundation.

Aside from covering school fees, the scholarship also provides a one-time cash award to the top speaker.
Purpose of the Scholarship
This initiative aims to empower brilliant students who can think critically and communicate effectively. It is designed for students who may face financial challenges but are willing to use their voice for change, values, and meaningful ideas.
Winners emerge through several speaking rounds. Judges and members of the public listen to and score each presentation. Eventually, the top student receives full tuition support for the entire programme plus a cash prize. Second and third positions also receive educational and financial support.
