Important Instructions for All Students
1. Mandatory Participation
Every fresh student must attend the matriculation ceremony. This event officially confirms your status as a student of Babcock University.
2. Seating Time
To ensure smooth organization and the academic procession:
- Undergraduates: seated by 6:00 a.m.
- Postgraduates: seated by 9:00 a.m.
Late arrival may result in missing the ceremony.
3. Academic Gown Collection
Students should collect their gowns at the Gown Room (Amphitheatre):
- Collection Days: Tuesday & Wednesday
- Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Gowns must be returned immediately after the ceremony, and penalties will apply for late return or damage.
4. Parents & Guardians
A special seating area will be provided. Families are encouraged to arrive early to secure good seats.

- Official photographers will be available.
- Personal photography is allowed only in designated areas to prevent disruption.
6. Dress Code
Students should dress formally and modestly, following university standards. Your appearance reflects the values of Babcock University.
JAMB Admission Letter – Compulsory Requirement
Before attending the ceremony, each student must:
✔ Print a copy of their JAMB Admission Letter
✔ Confirm with their School Officer that their name is on the Matriculation Register
Without the JAMB Admission Letter, your name will not appear on the Matriculation List — and you will NOT be allowed to participate.
Important Warning
Any student who fails to participate in the matriculation ceremony automatically forfeits their studentship at the university.
