Babcock University has dismissed online claims that Dr. Afolarin Ojewole, a Vice-Chancellor candidate, was linked to sexual misconduct. The institution described the report as false, malicious, and baseless, stressing that it aims to tarnish reputations and disrupt its leadership transition.
This clarification comes as the tenure of the current Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, ends in November 2025.

University’s Official Position
Babcock University highlighted four key points:
- No misconduct record: The school confirmed that no complaint or disciplinary case exists against Ojewole.
- Fake advocacy group: The alleged Apostles Seventh-Day Adventist group and its coordinator, Samson Fasasi, are unknown to the institution.
- 2018 leave explained: Ojewole traveled abroad in 2018 for family reasons, not due to any scandal.
- Transparent process: The school rejected claims of bias, insisting the Search Committee follows ethical and spiritual standards in line with national policies.
