The Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board has opened applications for the 2025 Scholarship Awards. The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ndubueze Mbah, announced the call for entries following the approval of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
This year’s scheme offers several opportunities for qualified indigenes of Enugu State to receive financial support for their studies.
Available Scholarship Categories
1. Undergraduate Scholarship — 500 Slots
Open to Enugu indigenes in 100 level or 200 level across any accredited tertiary institution in Nigeria.
2. Teachers’ Scholarship — 1000 Slots
Designed for indigenous teachers working in Enugu State Government schools who want to pursue a Master’s degree.
Teachers who receive the award must commit to teaching in the state for 10 years after completing the programme.
3. Postgraduate Scholarship — 100 Slots
Available for Master’s and PhD applicants in Nigerian universities.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for any category, applicants must:
- Be a confirmed indigene of Enugu State
- Have a valid admission letter for undergraduate or postgraduate studies
- For teachers: hold a valid employment letter from the Enugu State Government
- Plan to study during the 2025/2026 academic session
Required Documents
Prepare the following documents and combine them into one PDF file (maximum 2MB):
- Valid LGA of Origin Identification Letter
- Valid Admission Letter
- Letter of Acceptance of Admission
- Attestation Letter from your Traditional Ruler (HRH)
- Teachers only: Employment Letter
- A passport photograph
Important: Applications without the complete document bundle will not be shortlisted.

Because applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, applicants are urged to register early.
Examination Details
- The exam will be an online CBT, allowing students to participate from anywhere.
- Only shortlisted candidates will receive exam invitations.
- Ensure a stable internet connection during the test.
Note: Visually impaired students in 100 and 200 level are also encouraged to apply.
