Federal University Kashere Secures NUC Approval for Three New Degree Programmes

Federal University Kashere (FUK), Gombe State, has taken another major step in academic expansion as the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved three new full-time degree programmes for the university. This approval comes after a successful resource verification visit, where expert panels assessed the university’s staffing, facilities, and readiness to run the programmes.

According to a letter dated 8 December 2025, the NUC confirmed that the new programmes will officially commence in the 2025/2026 academic session. The approved programmes are:

  • B.D.S. Dental Surgery
  • B.N.Sc. Nursing Science
  • B.O.T. Occupational Therapy

Key Approval Guidelines from the NUC

  1. The approval covers only the full-time mode.
    Therefore, the university must seek fresh approval before running any short-time or part-time version.
  2. The programmes must retain their approved names.
    Any attempt to change titles will require written consent from the Commission.
  3. FUK must continue to provide strong teaching staff, learning resources, and equipment to maintain compliance and support long-term programme growth.
