Important Notes for Graduating Students
FUTA requires all graduands to take part in the academic procession. Every student must wear an approved gown, which the university will issue on a first-come, first-served basis after payment of the designated fees.
In addition, graduands must purchase:
- Specially designed scrolls
- A copy of the Order of Proceedings with names of all graduands
The procession begins at 8:30 a.m., and all students must arrive at the robing venue by 8:00 a.m. The venue is the car park of the Main Auditorium. Furthermore, students who arrive late or appear without full academic robes will not join the procession.
The university emphasizes discipline. Consequently, graduands cannot enter or exit the venue once the ceremony starts. Ph.D. students will obtain their designated academic gowns from the School of Postgraduate Studies.
General Information for Guests
FUTA has created a special viewing area where parents, guardians, and members of the public can follow the convocation proceedings live. Entry to this area requires an invitation card.
Moreover:
- Only officials with tags and individuals with invitation cards will access event venues.
- Vehicles with tags must park in designated areas.
- Security officials will restrict vehicles without tags from entering the campus.
Conclusion
The 36th Convocation Ceremony of FUTA promises not just academic recognition but also cultural and social celebration. Graduands, alumni, families, and stakeholders should prepare to participate actively in the week-long programme.
