Question 2: Solving Triangle Using Cosine Rule
In triangle ABC:
- AB = 8 cm
- AC = 6 cm
- ∠A = 60°
We are to find side BC.
Using Cosine Rule:
BC² = AB² + AC² − 2(AB)(AC)cos(∠A)
BC² = 8² + 6² − 2×8×6×cos(60°)
BC² = 64 + 36 − 96×0.5 = 100 − 48 = 52
BC = √52 ≈ 7.21 cm
