Here are four essay questions you may encounter in the 2025 IJMB exam, along with brief guidance on how to approach each:

1. Social Media Hinders More Than It Helps Education – Discuss

How to Approach It:

  • Define social media (platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.)
  • Outline its benefits: access to information, virtual classrooms, academic groups
  • Present your position:
    • If in favor, argue how it distracts more than it educates (e.g., addiction, misinformation)
    • If against, emphasize its educational power (e.g., digital learning, communication)

Tip: Use examples, current events, or personal experiences to support your points.

2. Write an Article for Publication on the Dangers of Drug Abuse

How to Approach It:

  • Use a formal article format: heading, byline, introduction, body, conclusion
  • Define drug abuse
  • Explain effects: health deterioration, crime, family breakdown, academic failure
  • Suggest solutions: awareness campaigns, rehabilitation centers, peer support

Example Thesis:
“Drug abuse continues to destroy the youth, and urgent intervention is necessary to save future generations.”

3. Letter to the Principal Complaining About Poor Hostel Sanitation

How to Approach It:

  • Use a formal letter format:

    • Specific complaints (toilets, garbage, water, insects, etc.)
    • Polite request for improvement
    • Conclusion with appreciation

Tone: Respectful, clear, and specific.

4. Write a Story That Ends with “…That Was When I Knew Hard Work Pays”

How to Approach It:

  • Be creative but realistic
  • Use the first person (“I”) to narrate
  • Structure: introduction → conflict → effort → resolution → final realization
  • Ensure the last line fits naturally with the story

Tip: Practice storytelling that feels authentic and avoids clichés.
