The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) for the 2025/2026 admission exercise. Candidates can now monitor their admission status, know when offers are available, and respond immediately to secure their admission.
Why JAMB CAPS Matters for Admission
JAMB CAPS is the official platform for confirming university, polytechnic, and college of education admissions in Nigeria. While some schools publish their admission lists on their portals, many rely solely on CAPS.
If you fail to check and respond on CAPS, you may lose your admission—even if your name is on the school’s list.
Step-by-Step Guide to Check Admission Status
Follow these steps carefully to confirm your admission:
- Visit the JAMB portal: https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
- Login with your email address and password.
- Scroll down and click Check Admission Status.
- Select Access My CAPS.
- Click on Admission Status.
- If admitted → Your photo and a congratulatory message will appear.
- If not admitted → You’ll see “Sorry, No Admission has been Given Yet.”
Tip: Keep checking regularly, as schools upload lists in batches.
How to Accept or Reject Your Admission
Once JAMB CAPS shows your admission offer, you must take action:
- Send ACCEPT or REJECT via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number linked to your JAMB profile.
- You have only 4 weeks to accept, or the offer will expire.
- If you lost your registered phone line, visit a JAMB accredited CBT centre to accept or reject your admission.
Why You Must Print Your JAMB Admission Letter
After accepting the offer, the next step is to print your JAMB admission letter. Schools will require this during clearance and registration. It serves as official proof that JAMB has validated your admission. Without it, you may not complete your school’s registration process.
How to Avoid Issues on Mobile
Many candidates checking with their phones see only the welcome page. To fix this problem:
- Open the JAMB portal with Google Chrome.
- Go to the menu and select Request Desktop Site.
- Reload the page to see the complete CAPS dashboard.
This ensures you can access all options, including Check Admission Status.
Share Your Admission Status to Help Others
If you’ve already received admission on JAMB CAPS, share the news (with sensitive details blurred). This helps other candidates know when schools start releasing admission lists. It also confirms which institutions have begun giving offers.
