Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has issued a fresh directive to all newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session concerning the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) application process.
According to the memo signed by Dr. Munzali A. Abana, Acting Director of ICT, every new student must complete an institutional data capture form as the first and compulsory step before applying for the loan. By completing this form, students allow the university to upload their biodata and admission details to the official NELFUND server.
How Students Should Begin the Process
The university provided two simple access options:
- Scan the QR code displayed in the announcement, or
- Click the official link attached to the memo.
After opening the form, students should carefully enter all required information. Accurate details ensure the university can upload records without delay.

Important Clarification
MAU emphasised that filling the data capture form is NOT the same as applying for the NELFUND loan.
Instead, this step only gives the ICT Directorate permission to upload student profiles to NELFUND’s system. After the upload is completed, students will then gain access to the NELFUND portal to submit the actual loan application.
Why Prompt Action Matters
The ICT Directorate encouraged students to complete the process as early as possible. Early submission reduces the chances of delays and helps students access the loan platform without difficulties.
Support and Enquiries
Students who experience challenges can:
- Visit the NELFUND Desk Office at the ICT Centre, or
- Send an email to nelfund@mau.edu.ng
The university expressed appreciation for the cooperation of all newly admitted students and assured them of continued support throughout the process.
