Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Undergraduate Pre-Admission Screening Registration for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking admission into the institution.

According to information released by the university, the screening exercise is open to suitably qualified candidates who selected KWASU as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME, as well as candidates willing to change their first-choice institution to KWASU through the JAMB portal.

KWASU Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission

To be eligible for the screening exercise, candidates must have scored a minimum of 160 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Candidates who score below the prescribed cut-off mark will not be considered for admission.

Eligibility Requirements

The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:

  1. Candidates whose first choice of institution is KWASU, Malete.

  2. Candidates willing to change their first-choice institution to KWASU through JAMB before completing the registration process.

  3. Candidates who possess at least five (5) O'Level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

  4. Direct Entry candidates with acceptable qualifications such as ND, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, HND, or equivalent qualifications recognized by JAMB.

  5. Candidates awaiting O'Level results may apply but will only be considered for admission when their results are available before the admission exercise concludes.

Screening Method

KWASU does not conduct a physical Post-UTME examination. Instead, admission screening is based on the evaluation of candidates' UTME/DE scores and O'Level results.

The admission aggregate is computed as follows:

  • UTME/DE Score – 70%

  • O'Level Results (Five Relevant Subjects) – 30%

Candidates are therefore advised to ensure that their O'Level grades are properly uploaded to the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) and the university portal where necessary.

Registration Period

The 2026/2027 Pre-Admission Screening Registration is scheduled to run from:

Opening Date: Friday, 18th July, 2026

Closing Date: Sunday, 17th August, 2026

Applicants are encouraged to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

Registration Fee

Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000 through the university's online application portal.

How to Apply

Candidates should:

  1. Visit the KWASU admission portal.

  2. Click on the undergraduate admission application link.

  3. Enter their JAMB Registration Number.

  4. Complete the online application form with accurate personal and academic details.

  5. Pay the prescribed screening fee online.

  6. Upload all required credentials and submit the application.

  7. Print the registration acknowledgement slip for reference.

Important Notice

Candidates who did not initially choose KWASU as their first-choice institution must first process a change of institution on the JAMB portal before proceeding with the university's screening registration. Failure to do so may affect admission consideration.

Prospective applicants are advised to regularly check the university portal and official communication channels for updates regarding the admission exercise and any subsequent announcements.
