In a significant boost to education and youth empowerment, Kenyon International West Africa Company Ltd has awarded scholarships worth ₦2.5 million to five brilliant students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. Each student received ₦500,000 annually during the company’s 10th anniversary celebration held in Lagos on 12th September, 2025.

Winners of the Competitive Selection
The students emerged after a rigorous computer-based test (CBT) and competitive selection process conducted by the Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IAIICT).
The beneficiaries are:
- Israel Ayeni – Department of Mechatronics
- Shuaibu Amir Yakubu – Department of Civil Engineering
- Nasiru Saidu Baba – Department of Chemical Engineering
- Khadija Abubakar – Department of Civil Engineering
- Habib Muhammad Kabir – Department of Chemical Engineering

University Leadership Appreciates the Gesture
The Vice-Chancellor of ABU, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, represented by Prof. Bello Sabo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), formally presented the awards to the students.
At the event, ABU also received a special recognition award for its continuous support and its role in nurturing future leaders. The Vice-Chancellor commended Kenyon International for its contribution to education and urged other oil companies to emulate the initiative.
“This noble investment will produce the engineering manpower Nigeria desperately needs. Supporting students, regardless of their background, is a direct investment in the nation’s future,” he noted.
He further congratulated the recipients and encouraged them to use the scholarship wisely to improve their academic journey.
