Matriculation Ceremony — January 8, 2026

The university will hold its official matriculation ceremony on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall, Main Campus, Ago-Iwoye.
The event starts at 11:00 a.m., and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Agboola, will preside over the ceremony alongside other Principal Officers. Provosts and Deans will also present their freshmen for the formal oath-taking.

Matriculation Gown Payment

Each fresher must pay ₦2,500 online via:

After payment, students can collect their academic gowns from their College or Faculty Offices upon presenting the official receipt.

Orientation Programme — January 6 & 7, 2026

The university will host its orientation programme earlier in the week, on:

  • Monday, January 6, 2026
  • Tuesday, January 7, 2026

Both sessions begin at 8:00 a.m., also at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Hall.

The Vice-Chancellor will declare the programme open, and members of the University Management will engage with the new students. The sessions aim to introduce freshmen to academic expectations, campus life, and essential university services.

Important Requirements for Freshmen

OOU has made attendance compulsory for both the orientation and matriculation events. To ensure smooth proceedings:

  • Students must wear their matriculation gowns on January 8.
  • They must arrive at the hall by 9:00 a.m. for proper seating and coordination.
  • They are strongly encouraged to participate fully in the orientation sessions to gain vital information for their academic journey.
