The House of Representatives has expressed strong concern over the recent shutdown of WAEC’s 2025 result portal. Lawmakers argued that the technical breakdown shows that Nigeria is not yet ready to begin full Computer-Based Examinations (CBE).

WAEC Portal Failure Sparks Debate
While adopting a motion of urgent national importance sponsored by Representative Kelechi Nwogu, the House noted that the glitches disrupted students nationwide. According to the lawmakers, the situation proves that the digital infrastructure needed for CBE is still weak.
They stressed that rushing into a nationwide implementation could create more problems for candidates.
