Serwah Yaa Ofosu, an African student from Ghana was awarded from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology KNUST as a first-class degree in civil engineering.
Serwah reminisced on her scholastic career in an emotional article on LinkedIn, characterising it as a time of steadfast concentration, personal development, and great work. Despite many obstacles, her perseverance and diligence produced outstanding results.
Academic Performance:.listed as one of the Provost’s Outstanding Students and acknowledged as the top student in the field of geotechnical engineering. The Civil Engineering Students’ Association awarded her the title of Female Personality of the Year.
Participation in the Community and Leadership:
Serwah assumed several leadership positions outside of the classroom. Vice President of the KNUST Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers. Lead for TEDxKNUST marketing. Coordinator of Volunteers in the Ashanti Region for MISE Ghana. As a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador, she oversaw peer-learning programs and technical training sessions.
Real-World Experience: Serwah sought many internships to supplement her academic background and get hands-on engineering experience. She became very interested in data-driven ideas for bettering the built environment and sustainable design.”
Serwah was very appreciative to her friends, mentors, and family for helping her achieve her goal. She is full of hope and purpose as she looks to the future, prepared to have a significant influence on the engineering community.
