The Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee has launched the Tax Reform Challenge, a nationwide competition inviting young Nigerians to share their ideas on Nigeria’s new tax reform policies. The challenge encourages students to understand how taxation supports national development, accountability, and responsible citizenship.

Purpose of the Tax Reform Challenge
The Challenge aims to:
- Increase awareness of tax policies among Nigerian youth.
- Promote research-based and factual conversations about taxation.
- Build a network of informed student ambassadors.
- Help young people recognize that taxation is a shared responsibility between citizens and government.

Who Can Apply
The competition is open to:
- Undergraduates in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
- Graduates who are currently serving in NYSC or awaiting mobilization.
Applicants may apply individually or through organised student bodies such as:
- Tax Clubs
- Economics, Accounting, or Finance Student Associations
- Journalism and Debate Clubs
Entry Format and Submission Guidelines
Participants can submit content in English, Pidgin, Hausa, Igbo, or Yoruba.
Accepted Submission Types:
- Articles
- Videos
- Podcasts
- Radio presentations
- Social media awareness content
Requirements:
- Entries must be educational, factual, and engaging.
- Submissions in local languages must include English translations.
- Video/Audio content must not exceed 10 minutes.
Submission Window: 1 July – 31 December 2025.

Competition Stages
Stage 1 – Screening
All participants will take an online test on Nigerian tax reforms.
The top male and female from each institution will advance.
Stage 2 – Zonal Competitions
Qualified contestants will present before experts drawn from academia, journalism, and the tax sector.
Stage 3 – National Finals
Finalists will compete in a live televised event broadcast nationwide.
