Thomas Adewumi University 2nd Convocation Week 2025

Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko, Kwara State, proudly announces its 2nd Convocation Ceremonies, scheduled from Friday 21st to Wednesday 26th November 2025. The week-long event celebrates academic excellence, service, culture, sports, innovation, and the transition of a new set of graduates into the wider world of work, research, and entrepreneurship.

Led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo, PhD, the ceremonies will run across both the East and West Campuses, bringing together students, families, staff, alumni, industry leaders, and invited guests.

Purpose of the Convocation

This second convocation marks an important milestone for TAU. It celebrates:

  • The successful completion of academic programmes
  • The beginning of career paths and postgraduate journeys
  • Recognition of excellence through awards and special honours
  • The connection between university learning and real-world opportunities

Throughout the week, students will engage in community outreach, sports, thanksgiving service, exhibitions, drama performances, research fair, commissioning of new facilities, and the final Award of Degrees.

The ceremonies are hosted by Professor Francisca Oladipo, on behalf of:
The Board of Trustees, Governing Council, Senate, Congregation and Students.

Lecture Topic:
“Crowdfunding Opportunities for Startups: Equipping Nigerian Graduates for a Sustainable Future.”

This topic is especially valuable for young graduates hoping to launch startups or build tech-driven careers in the evolving Nigerian economy.

Saturday, 22 November 2025 – Sports & Theatre

Event I: Convocation Sports – 10:00 a.m.

  • Venue: TAU Sports Arena (East Campus)

Event II: Convocation Play – 06:00 p.m.

  • Venue: TAU Chapel (West Campus)
