The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced an extension of the 2025/2026 admission exercise. This follows a directive issued by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The new deadline for admissions is now November 17, 2025.

According to a memo released on November 4, 2025, and signed by Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka I. Icha, Registrar of the University, the extension provides additional time for qualified applicants to secure admission into approved academic programmes.
Eligible Candidates
UNICAL invites all candidates who scored 150 and above in the 2025 UTME to apply. Interested applicants must be qualified and ready to join the university in the current academic session.

Admissions are open only into the following departments and faculties:
- Faculty of Agriculture
- Faculty of Education
- Department of Religious and Cultural Studies
- Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies
- Department of Mathematics
- Department of Statistics
The university emphasized that programmes not listed above are currently unavailable for admission.
