Strict Enforcement of “No Payment, No Examination” Policy

In a memo signed by the Registrar, Mr. Ademola Bobola, the university reaffirmed its firm stance that only students who have paid their fees or subscribed to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) will be eligible to sit for examinations.

“The university management is in receipt of the list of students who have failed to pay their school charges despite repeated reminders. These students have also failed to subscribe to the student loans being provided by NELFUND,” the memo stated.

Bobola stressed that all previous efforts to encourage students to pay their charges or enroll in the loan scheme had yielded little success.

To ensure transparency, the Senate directed all provosts, deans, directors, and heads of departments to publish the names of defaulting students by 8 a.m. on Monday, granting them a final opportunity to verify their status and settle outstanding payments before the commencement of examinations.

Bobola emphasized:

“Management expects full cooperation and compliance by all stakeholders to maintain the university’s high standards.”

Enforcement Task Force

As part of the strict enforcement measures, the university has set up a task force led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) to monitor the situation during examinations and ensure that no defaulting student gains entry into exam halls.

Summary: With exams already underway, UNIBEN has taken a hard stance on its “No Payment, No Examination” policy, signaling that financial compliance is now non-negotiable for all students.
