WAEC GCE 2025 (2nd Series) Registration Extended

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced an extension of the registration deadline for the 2025 WASSCE for Private Candidates (Second Series).

Registration, which commenced on Monday, June 9, 2025, will now close at 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 5, 2025. However, intending candidates must note that PIN generation will end on Friday, October 3, 2025.

This extension provides a final opportunity for all candidates yet to complete their registration and biometric capturing.

Key Dates to Remember

  • Commencement of registration: Monday, June 9, 2025
  • PIN generation deadline: Friday, October 3, 2025
  • Final registration deadline: Sunday, October 5, 2025
  • Walk-in candidate registration: Not less than 24 hours before the paper

Registration Guidelines

  1. Purchase Registration PIN
    • Cost: ₦27,000 (Twenty-Seven Thousand Naira only)
    • Available at: Access Bank, First Bank, Zenith, GTBank, UBA, Ecobank, Fidelity, Unity, Polaris, Heritage, WEMA, Jaiz, Sterling, and other accredited agents.
    • An additional ₦500 commission applies.
  2. Online Registration
    • Visit www.waeconline.org.ng.
    • Use the PIN to complete your registration.
    • Upload biometric data (fingerprint and photo) using a digital scanner.
  3. Subject Selection
    • English Language and Mathematics are compulsory.
    • Candidates must select a minimum of 7 subjects and a maximum of 9 subjects, including the compulsory ones.
  4. Completion of Registration
    • Double-check personal details (names, date of birth, photo, etc.).
    • Print out your Photo Card/Admission Notice, which also contains your Result Checker PIN.

Special Notes

  • Walk-in Candidates: Late applicants can still register as walk-in candidates for a fee of ₦45,000, at least 24 hours before the exam.
  • Candidates with disabilities/support needs: Registration must also be done online. Applicants should clearly indicate challenges such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, or mobility issues.
  • Rules of conduct:
    • No mobile phones or electronic devices in exam halls.
    • Candidates must wear mufti (no uniforms).
    • Malpractice attracts cancellation of results and possible prosecution.
    • Smoking is strictly prohibited in examination centres.

Approved Subjects for WAEC GCE 2025 (2nd Series)

Candidates can choose from the following 36 subjects:

  • Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Health Education
  • Commercials: Commerce, Financial Accounting, Economics
  • Languages: English Language, Literature-in-English, French, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba
  • Social Sciences: Government, Geography, Civic Education, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies
  • Technical/Vocational: Foods & Nutrition, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, among others

This is the last chance to register for the 2025 WAEC GCE (2nd Series) before the exam begins. Ensure that your O’Level details, photo, and biometric data are uploaded correctly to avoid disqualification.
