The College of Education denies promotion misconduct.

The Taraba State College of Education, Zing, has vehemently denies claims made in a recent national publication that the school was involved in improper staff promotions.

Boniface Yakubu, the college’s director of information, has declared the charges to be “baseless, frivolous, unfounded, and untrue.” The Guardian journalist in Taraba was given access to the announcement.

Yakubu claims that the institution’s promotion procedure is open, merit-based, and consists of four primary steps:

The management of the college. The Management Committee’s expansion. The Committee for Appointments and Promotions (A&PC).The Council for Governance

He stressed that in addition to members of the Academic Board and union officials from COEASU and NASU, the Expanded Management Committee also consists of representatives from the Ministries of Education, Justice, and Finance. Every promotion is evaluated in light of the January 2020 Revised Scheme of Service.

“The Ministry of Education takes over to review and approve promotion cases when the Governing Council is not present. If not, the A&PC reviews each suggestion before the Governing Council gives its final approval, Yakubu said.

The statement addressed some accusations, including the following.excluding competent employees from the advancement process.giving young employees promotions over older ones.promoting employees who are undergoing disciplinary action. The chairman of the Governing Council’s influence.

The college’s provost, Professor Ejika Sambo, advised employees to air their complaints internally rather than anonymously in the media. In keeping with Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas’ educational vision, he also emphasised the need of cooperation and unity in advancing the institution’s goal.
