The Niger Government promises the IBBUL maximum security, this was said by the Honourable Hamidu Mu’azu Jantabo, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, during an emergency security meeting in reaction to the terrible death of a 300-level student who was reportedly assaulted by phone snatchers in his off-campus home.

The Commissioner also urged more cooperation between the student body, local vigilante organizations, and the University’s internal security, pointing out that earlier efforts to set up permanent security outposts resulted in disputes.
To restore safety, trust, and stability within and around the University community, the State government, University authorities, traditional leaders, student representatives, and security agencies collectively pledged at the end of the emergency meetings to take immediate and long-lasting action.
