A Nigerian student Nwadike Chukwubikem Chidiebere went viral after significantly raising his Joint Admissions and Matriculation JAMB score from 153 to an incredible 361.
The JAMB board announced the 2025 UTME results earlier in May, showing that more over 1.5 million applicants had scores lower than 200. Nevertheless, further examination revealed discrepancies and technical mistakes that jeopardised the accuracy of several findings. As a result, JAMB set up a retest for the impacted applicants.
Chidiebere was one among them; many were taken aback by her updated performance. Alex Onyia, an education advocate, celebrated the student’s progress on social media by sharing the news:
“From 153 a few weeks ago to 361,” said @winexviv. Isn’t God amazing?
Online responses to the event have been divided, with some applauding the adjustment and others noting worries about remaining issues:
@francis_ranco: “This is good, but JAMB should wait until 2025 and let universities take care of admissions on their own.”
@Kolintin12: “A few of us had problems as well, but we were not given a new time slot. At 12 on Saturday, there were still unanswered questions on my test, and nothing was done.
@victoryonyeka: I have been texting JAMB regarding my daughter’s results, but I haven’t heard back.
