About the Event
The management of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, is proud to invite the general public, parents, and stakeholders to its 18th Convocation Ceremony. This landmark event celebrates the academic achievements of the 2024/2025 graduating class across all programmes, including Regular, Sandwich, SLT, Weekend, Part-time, and Affiliate institutions.

Whether you are receiving a diploma, a first degree, or a higher degree, this week-long celebration marks the official start of your journey as a DELSU alumnus.

Convocation Week Schedule of Events
The university has planned a series of spiritual, academic, and social activities leading up to the grand finale.

April 20th – 30th: Gown Collection Period. Graduands should visit their Faculty Offices during this window.

Friday, April 24th: Jumat Prayers for the Muslim community.

Sunday, April 26th (8:30 am): Pre-Convocation Service at St. Paul Catholic Chaplaincy, Site II.

Tuesday, April 28th: Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference (10:00 am) and a Novelty Match (4:00 pm).

Wednesday, April 29th: Convocation Lecture (10:00 am) followed by the Convocation Drama (4:00 pm).

Thursday, April 30th: Founder’s Day Thanksgiving (10:00 am), Arts Exhibition (2:00 pm), and Alumni Day (4:00 pm).

Saturday, May 2nd (9:00 am): The Main Convocation Ceremony. Award of degrees, investiture of Professor Emeritus, and conferment of Honorary Degrees.

Essential Guidelines for Graduands
To ensure a smooth experience, please adhere strictly to the following administrative requirements:

1. Gown Collection & Returns
To collect your academic gown, you must present the original copy of your Statement of Results and evidence of payment.

Deadline for Return: All gowns must be returned by Monday, May 4th, 2026.

Penalty: Late returns attract a fine of ₦500 per day.

2. Graduation Day Protocol
The university maintains strict decorum during the ceremony. All graduands must join the procession by 9:00 a.m. * Seating: Guests and graduands must be in their designated sections before the ceremony starts.

Photography: Unauthorized photography and movement are strictly prohibited during the official proceedings. Please take your commemorative photos before or after the event.

3. Certificates and Transcripts
Clearance: Complete your faculty/college clearance before the ceremony to collect your certificate on Convocation Day.

Transcripts: Ensure you provide an active email address to receive your student copy transcript digitally.
