Basic Steps in Montessori Reading?is a three book series designed to help young children in nursery and early primary school overcome the challenges of reading through the use of sounds.?Book 1?introduces the child to the sounds of the alphabets and the steps to reading and writing them. Using beautiful illustrations found in the child?s environment, this helps to stimulate the child?s interest and makes for pronunciation and identification of the learned sound.?Book 2?exposes the child to two or more letter words. Here the child learns to build and pronounce words using two or more sounds of the letters of the alphabet. Short sentences, capital letters and sight words are also introduced at this stage.?Book 3?strengthens the child?s reading skills, and the use of phonograms is introduced, which aids general reading. The books expose the child to interesting activities and exercises, which will encourage his/her participation, as well as train his/her senses for early development in reading and writing.
