Jordan Nyasia Wins Harvard Scholarship in the USA.

Jordan Nyasia 18-year-old, made history by obtaining admission to Harvard University and more than $288,000 in scholarships in the USA, Massachusetts — As the first Black valedictorian in Springfield Central High School’s 32-year history.

Jordan excelled academically despite growing up in poverty, living in many houses, including a shelter, and going to several schools. He had a 4.47 GPA and a 1,310 SAT score. She received a $72,000 yearly scholarship from Harvard as a result of her hard work, and she intends to study either chemistry, neurobiology, or both.

Among Jordan’s many struggles was the death of her father, a landscaper whose job barely made ends meet in addition to directing varsity sports teams, she assumed leadership positions at school as president of the Gender Equality Club, a member of the National Honour Society, and a member of the National Math Society.

Jordan persevered throughout her trip, even arriving late to school to take part in events and overcoming prejudice and bullying. She was called a “nerd” and even referred to as a “white girl trapped in a Black girl’s body”—remarks that she subsequently saw were backhanded praises rooted in prejudice in society.

Jordan is now getting ready to start her studies at Harvard with the goal of becoming a role model she previously dreamed she had by pursuing a career in research and medicine. Her narrative is a powerful illustration of tenacity, faith in oneself, and overcoming obstacles in the face of difficulty.
