I'm Done With 2025 JAMB UTME, What's Comes Next? Here's What Every Candidate Should Do

Published on Jun 2, 2025 • Education

Now that most of the 2025 JAMB UTME results have been released, it’s natural to see a mix of emotions—some candidates are excited, while others may be feeling disappointed. Whichever category you fall into, it's important to understand one thing clearly:

A high JAMB score does not guarantee automatic admission, and a low score doesn’t mean the end of the road.

The Truth About Admission
We’ve seen candidates with scores above 250 fail to secure admission, and others with scores below 200 successfully admitted into competitive courses. The admission process is influenced by several factors beyond JAMB scores, such as:

Departmental and institutional cut-off marks

Performance in Post-UTME or screening exercises

Admission quotas and competition for specific courses

Catchment area and school policies

What You Should Do Next
As a 2025 JAMB candidate, this is the time to ask yourself some critical questions:

✅ What was my school’s cut-off mark last year?
✅ What is the cut-off mark for my intended course?
✅ Should I consider a change of course or institution?
✅ What is the Post-UTME screening process like at my chosen school?
✅ How can I start preparing effectively for Post-UTME?

Key Advice Going Forward
🔹 Start Preparing Now: Don’t wait for your school of choice to announce its Post-UTME form before you begin preparation. The competition is high, and early preparation can give you an edge.

🔹 Use Past Questions: We’ve made available Post-UTME Past Questions for various schools to help you practice and improve.

🔹 Consider Your Options: If your JAMB score is more competitive for a polytechnic, college of education, or a less competitive course, don’t hesitate to explore those paths—especially if you want to avoid writing JAMB again next year.
