OAU ChemEng Marks 55 Years with AfDB Adviser Keynote.

The keynote lecture at the 55th-anniversary celebration of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife will be given by Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, Senior Special Adviser to the President of the African Development Bank.

The prestigious event will take place in the African Centre of Excellence, OAU's Design Studio Auditorium on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The department said in a statement on Wednesday that the event would include the announcement of a N5 billion endowment fund to assist academic advancement, research, and innovation, as well as the publication of a commemorative book.

In addition to celebrating our accomplishments, this anniversary provides an opportunity to get ready for an exciting future. The Ooni of Ife and Professor Oyelaran-Oyeyinka's participation highlights the department's high regard in Nigeria and throughout the world, he remarked.
