Unizik warns against unauthorized students dues.

Unizik warns against unauthorized students dues.

Published on Jun 30, 2025 • Education

The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has learned that certain department heads and faculty deans have once again turned to collect unapproved fees from students under pretenses, such as "peculiar dues." Unfortunately, this places a severe and significant financial strain on our pupils.

The management is adamantly opposed to the return of this reprehensible practice and issues a warning that any employee caught extorting others will be subject to disciplinary action from the Disciplinary Panel going forward.

Additionally, any incidents of such extortion may be reported directly to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor via the Student Union Government (SUG). Therefore, it is recommended that all department heads and faculty deans abstain from any unauthorized collecting.

Please be informed appropriately.
