JAMB 2026 UTME Registration: Key Guidelines, Requirements and Important Updates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for candidates, including those from foreign countries, interested in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Registration can only be completed at approved and accredited JAMB CBT centres nationwide.

First Step: Purchase Your ePIN

Before visiting any CBT centre, candidates must purchase the JAMB ePIN.

After obtaining the ePIN, candidates should download and properly complete the JAMB Registration Template. Filling the template in advance helps ensure a smooth registration process at the centre.

Registration deadline: Saturday, 28 February 2026

Candidates are strongly advised not to wait until the last minute.

Each UTME candidate is entitled to a free copy of the novel after completing registration at an accredited CBT centre. Candidates should request it if it is not issued automatically.

Compulsory Disclosure of Previous Admission

JAMB now requires candidates to disclose any previous admission or matriculation status during registration.

Candidates must indicate:

Year of admission

Failure to declare prior admission will invalidate the registration. However, candidates who wish to start afresh or change programme/institution may still do so, provided they disclose their history correctly.

Verify course and subject combinations using the JAMB brochure

Importantly, candidates must print their Registration Confirmation Slip using biometric authentication. Fingerprint verification confirms the accuracy of submitted details and reduces disputes over registration errors.

For Schools and CBT Operators

Schools, institutions, tutorial centres, business centres, and cafés may apply to become JAMB CBT Agents or Training Centres to support candidates preparing for the examination.
