Important Notice: New Restrictions on Unauthorized Sales and Collections at FUEZ
Published on Mar 12, 2026 β’ Education
The Deanery of Student Affairs at the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ), has released a crucial directive aimed at maintaining financial transparency and order across the campus. In an internal memorandum dated March 12, 2026 (Ref: FUEZ/DSA/VC/004), the university management officially prohibited students from selling books or instructional materials and collecting money from their peers without formal approval.
Focus on Class Representatives and Student Groups
The directive specifically targets Class Representatives for both NCE and Undergraduate programmes. Management has observed a growing trend of students selling reading materials or soliciting funds on behalf of individuals or organizations without the university's consent.
To curb this, the Deanery has established a strict new rule:
"No student is permitted to sell books, instructional materials, or collect any form of money from other students on behalf of any person or organization without obtaining prior approval from the Dean, Students Affairs Division."
Consequences of Non-Compliance
The university is taking this matter seriously to protect students from potential exploitation and unauthorized levies. Students are strongly warned to stop these activities immediately.
Violators will face disciplinary action according to the institutionβs established rules and regulations. To ensure the directive is enforced, copies of the memo have been sent to several key offices, including:
The Vice Chancellor and Acting Registrar
All Deans and Heads of Departments (HODs)
The Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU)
The Director of Security and Students' Representative Council (SRC)
How to Stay Compliant
If you are a student leader or a member of a campus organization planning a fundraiser or a resource-sharing initiative, you must seek proper authorization first.
Step 1: Draft a formal proposal for your activity or collection.
Step 2: Submit the proposal to the Deanery of Student Affairs for review.
Step 3: Wait for official written approval before proceeding.
By following these steps, you help maintain a safe and transparent academic environment for everyone at FUEZ.
