JAMB 2026 Day 1: Nationwide Live Updates and Candidate Interaction

Published on Apr 16, 2026 • Education

Today, Thursday, April 16th, marks the official commencement of the 2026 JAMB UTME. This post is a dedicated space for all Day 1 candidates to connect, share their pre-exam experiences, and provide live updates from their respective centres across the country.

Whether you are currently in the queue for biometrics or monitoring from home for your upcoming session, this is your community hub for real-time information.

Important Reminders for Day 1 Candidates

Before you step into the hall, keep these final checks in mind:

  • Arrival Time: Following JAMB's recent adjustment, Session 1 candidates should be at their centres by 7:00 AM. For all other sessions, ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes before the time stated on your slip.

  • Required Items: You only need your printed exam slips and an HB pencil.

  • Prohibited Items: Leave your phones, smartwatches, and bags with a trusted relative or at a secure "cloakroom" outside the hall. Stay vigilant—not everyone at the centre is a candidate; keep your belongings safe!

Share Your Live Updates (Before Biometrics)

We want to hear from you! If you are at your centre right now, give us a "Live Report" in the comments. Please include:

  1. Your State.

  2. The Name of your CBT Centre.

  3. Current Status: (e.g., "Biometrics have started," "System is down," "Orderly conduct," "Heavy rain at the venue").

This information is vital for identifying centres with technical hitches so that JAMB officials and technicians can be alerted promptly.

What to Do After Your Exam

Once you finish your papers and exit the hall:

  • Memorize Questions: Try to keep a few questions and your answer selections in mind.

  • Share Your Experience: We will be launching a dedicated "Post-Exam Experience" thread shortly. Come back to tell us how the system performed, the difficulty level of the questions, and any advice for those writing in the coming days.

Final Prep for Other Candidates

If your exam is scheduled for later this week, don't stop practicing!

We wish every Day 1 candidate the very best of luck. Stay calm, stay focused, and go get that 300+ score!

Are you at your centre yet? Drop a comment with your location and let us know how the verification process is going!
