The management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, has issued a formal warning to the general public regarding fraudulent social media activities targeting unsuspecting individuals.

 Critical Security Notice

It has come to the attention of the university that several fake social media accounts are currently operating on platforms including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, falsely claiming to represent the Vice-Chancellor.

Please take note of the following:

Recent News

  1. No Personal Accounts: Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma does not currently operate any personal social media accounts for official university business.

  2. Fraudulent Intent: These accounts are being managed by impostors with the express intent to deceive and defraud members of the public.

  3. Official Statement: The university will provide a formal notification through its verified communication channels if an authentic social media presence for the Vice-Chancellor is ever established.

 How to Protect Yourself

  • Do Not Engage: Members of the public are strongly advised to disregard any communication, requests, or solicitations received from these fraudulent accounts.

  • Report & Block: If you encounter these accounts, report them to the respective platform administrators and refrain from engaging or providing any personal/financial information.

  • Verify Information: Always rely exclusively on the university’s official website and verified communication channels for any updates or administrative enquiries.
