NUC handles social media fraud in the university's Accreditation.

National Universities Commission (NUC) has taken notice of a social media article that is credited to a person named Taofik Olatubonsun. In it, unsupported claims have been spread to mislead the public about the Commission's prestigious accreditation history.

As a result, compliance with the current Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards is the aim of certification. The Commission uses a peer-review methodology to conduct the process, appointing independent panels of subject-matter experts to act as assessors for academic program accreditation.

Following the submission of accreditation findings to the NUC, the Commission thoroughly examines the reports internally to make sure the evaluators follow the NUC's accreditation policies.
The National Universities Commission's executive secretary is Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu.
