Available Postgraduate Programmes
The university is offering a variety of advanced degrees and diplomas tailored for those working in human medicine. Applicants can choose from the following tracks:
Master of Science (MSc) in Reproductive Physiology and Assisted Reproductive Technology.
Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Embryology.
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Andrology.
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Cryopreservation of Gametes and Embryos.
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
Who Should Apply? (Admission Requirements)
To ensure high standards in these specialized fields, the university has outlined clear eligibility criteria. Please review the following before starting your application:
Academic Foundation: Candidates must hold five credit passes at the O’Level (WASC/NECO/GCE) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. These must be obtained in no more than two sittings.
Professional Credentials: You must hold an MBBS degree with at least four years of post-qualification experience and maintain active registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Preferred Background: While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, preference is given to MBBS holders who have completed Part 1 or 2 of the National Postgraduate Medical College or the West Africa College of Surgeons—especially those currently practicing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Natural Sciences Route: If you hold a B.Sc. in the natural sciences, Laboratory Sciences, or a BMLS degree, you are also eligible to apply for any of the IRH programmes.

Application Fee: There is a non-refundable application fee of N50,000.00.
Payment: You must process this payment through the official University of Abuja portal using the REMITA platform.
The Deadline: Be sure to submit your application by Thursday, April 30, 2026.
A Note on Transcripts and Enquiries
The university requires thorough documentation for all applicants. Please process your Transcript Request (Form A2) directly through the application portal. It is vital that you forward evidence of this request along with your application.
Official transcripts should be emailed to spgs@uniabuja.edu.ng. Additionally, please arrange for hard copies to be sent to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Abuja.
