The Management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has sent a clear message regarding academic honesty. Following the 30th Regular Meeting of the University Senate on Wednesday, 29th April, 2026, eight students have been officially expelled from the institution.

The decision follows a rigorous investigation by the Examination Misconduct Committee regarding incidents during the First Semester examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Basis for Expulsion

The Senate's action was not arbitrary; it was carried out in strict accordance with the institution's established code of conduct. Specifically:

The affected students represent a cross-section of the university, from freshers to final-year students, proving that the rules apply equally to all levels.

Β Management’s Zero-Tolerance Stance

CUSTECH Management has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward any form of academic dishonesty. The institution emphasized that a university degree is a testament to both intellectual labor and ethical character.

"Your certificate is only as valuable as the character behind it. This development serves as a sobering reminder that there are no shortcuts to true success." β€” CUSTECH ManagementΒ A Lesson for the Student Body

Expulsion is a heavy price, particularly for students like Usman Bilal, who was in his final year (400L). This serves as a critical warning to all students:

  1. Preparation is Key: Avoid the temptation of malpractice by beginning exam preparations early.

  2. Know the Rules: Ignorance of the Student Handbook is not a defense.

  3. Integrity Matters: In the professional world, the habits formed in the classroom will define your career reputation.
