Ebonyi State University (EBSU) Post-UTME/DE 2026: Cut-Off Mark, Eligibility and Registration Details

The management of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki, has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) Admission screening exercise for suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into the university's undergraduate programmes.

Applications are invited from candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and selected EBSU as their first-choice institution. Candidates who did not initially choose the university may also apply after completing a Change of Institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

EBSU Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission

The university has approved a minimum UTME score of 140 for candidates seeking admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Candidates who score 140 and above are eligible to apply for the admission screening exercise. However, candidates seeking admission into highly competitive programmes such as Medicine and Surgery, Law, Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, and Engineering are advised to obtain much higher scores to improve their chances of admission.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the screening exercise, candidates must:

• Choose Ebonyi State University (EBSU) as their First Choice Institution.

• Obtain a minimum score of 140 in the 2026 UTME.

• Possess at least five (5) O'Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics in relevant subjects.

• Have the correct UTME subject combination for their chosen course.

• Upload their O'Level results on the JAMB CAPS portal.

• Meet all departmental admission requirements.

Candidates awaiting O'Level results may also apply but must ensure their results are uploaded before admission processing is concluded.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

Direct Entry candidates are also eligible to apply provided they possess any of the following qualifications:

• Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)

• Higher National Diploma (HND)

• A-Level Certificates

• First Degree or equivalent qualifications recognized by JAMB.
