Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Post-UTME/DE 2026: Cut-Off Mark, Eligibility and Registration Details

The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for Admission into its various undergraduate programmes.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who chose FUTA as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry candidates seeking admission into the university.

FUTA Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission

To be eligible for the screening exercise, candidates must have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2026 UTME. Only candidates who meet this minimum requirement will be considered for admission screening.

Candidates seeking admission into highly competitive programmes such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, and some Engineering courses are advised to aim for scores significantly higher than the minimum benchmark due to intense competition.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the FUTA Post-UTME screening exercise, candidates must:

  • Have chosen the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) as their First Choice Institution.

  • Score a minimum of 180 in the 2026 UTME.

  • Possess at least five (5) O'Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

  • Upload their O'Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal.

  • Be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

Direct Entry candidates are also eligible to participate in the screening exercise provided they:

  • Chose FUTA as their First Choice Institution.

  • Possess relevant qualifications such as ND, NCE, HND, IJMB, JUPEB, A-Level certificates, or other qualifications recognized by JAMB.

  • Meet the departmental requirements for their chosen programme.

Registration Period

The university has opened its online screening portal for eligible candidates. Applicants are advised to complete their registration and upload all required documents before the application deadline announced on the university portal.

Screening Method

FUTA conducts an online admission screening exercise. Candidates are assessed using their UTME scores, O'Level results, and other admission criteria approved by the university.

The university has emphasized that candidates must ensure their O'Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS before the close of registration, as failure to do so may affect admission consideration.

Registration Fee

Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable screening fee of:

₦2,000 only

Payment should be made through the official FUTA admission portal using approved payment channels.

How to Apply

Candidates should:

  1. Visit the FUTA Post-UTME Portal.

  2. Log in using their JAMB Registration Number.

  3. Generate and pay the screening fee invoice.

  4. Complete the online application form.

  5. Upload all required credentials and documents.

  6. Submit the application.

  7. Print the acknowledgement slip for future reference.

Important Notice

Candidates who did not initially choose FUTA as their first-choice institution may still apply after processing a Change of Institution through JAMB and selecting FUTA as their preferred institution.

Applicants are also advised to ensure that all personal information, examination details, and uploaded credentials are accurate, as discrepancies may affect admission processing.
