The management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for candidates seeking Admission into the university's undergraduate programmes.

FUTO Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission

To be eligible for the screening exercise, candidates must have scored a minimum of 150 in the 2026 UTME.

However, candidates seeking admission into highly competitive programmes such as Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Engineering courses are advised to aim for significantly higher scores due to intense competition.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into FUTO must:

  • Choose the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) as their First Choice Institution.

  • Obtain the minimum approved UTME score for admission consideration.

  • Possess at least five (5) O'Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics in relevant subjects.

  • Upload their O'Level results on the JAMB CAPS portal.

  • Meet the specific admission requirements for their chosen programme.

  • Be at least 16 years old at the time of admission.

Candidates awaiting O'Level results may also apply but must upload their results before admission processing is concluded.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

Direct Entry candidates are eligible to participate in the screening exercise provided they possess recognized qualifications such as:

  • National Diploma (ND)

  • Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)

  • Higher National Diploma (HND)

  • IJMB

  • JUPEB

  • A-Level Certificates

  • First Degree or equivalent qualifications recognized by JAMB.

Candidates must also ensure that their academic transcripts and supporting credentials are available when required by the university.

Registration Period

Online registration for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise is expected to commence through the university's admission portal.

Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the university portal for official announcements regarding registration dates, deadlines, and screening schedules.

Screening Method

FUTO conducts an online admission screening exercise for UTME and Direct Entry candidates.

Important Notice

Candidates who did not initially choose FUTO as their first-choice institution must process a Change of Institution through JAMB before completing the admission process.

Applicants are also advised to upload their O'Level results on JAMB CAPS, as candidates whose results are not available on the platform may not be considered for admission. Failure to provide accurate information may lead to disqualification from the admission process.
