Imo State University (IMSU) Post-UTME/DE 2026: Cut-Off Mark, Eligibility and Registration Details

The management of Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for candidates seeking Admission into the university's undergraduate programmes.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and selected IMSU as their first-choice institution. Direct Entry candidates seeking admission into 200-level programmes are also eligible to apply.

IMSU Cut-Off Mark for 2026/2027 Admission

To be eligible for the admission screening exercise, candidates must have scored a minimum of 150 in the 2026 UTME. Candidates who meet the prescribed cut-off mark can proceed with the online screening registration.

However, candidates seeking admission into highly competitive programmes such as Medicine and Surgery, Law, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, and Engineering are advised to obtain significantly higher scores to improve their admission chances.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must satisfy the following requirements:

• Choose Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, as their First Choice Institution.

• Obtain a minimum score of 150 in the 2026 UTME.

• Possess at least five (5) O'Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in relevant subjects.

• Have the correct UTME subject combination for their chosen course.

• Upload their O'Level results on the JAMB CAPS portal.

• Meet all departmental admission requirements.

Candidates awaiting O'Level results may also apply but must upload the results before admission processing is concluded.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

Direct Entry candidates are eligible to participate in the screening exercise provided they possess relevant qualifications such as:

• National Diploma (ND)

• Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE)

• Higher National Diploma (HND)

• IJMB

• JUPEB

• A-Level Certificates

• First Degree or equivalent qualifications recognized by JAMB.

Important Notice

Candidates who did not initially choose IMSU as their first-choice institution may still apply after processing a Change of Institution through JAMB and selecting Imo State University as their preferred institution.
