JAMB 2026 Venue Guide: Locate Your Centre to Avoid Exam Day Stress

Published on Apr 13, 2026 • Education

One of the most stressful experiences you can face on your exam day is being unable to find your venue or arriving late because you spent precious time wandering around lost. To ensure your mind is clear and focused on your questions, locating your 2026 UTME exam centre before the big day is an essential part of your preparation.

Familiarizing yourself with the route and the exact location of the building will help you avoid panic and unnecessary exhaustion when it matters most.

Step 1: Print Your Exam Slip Before April 15th

Your first priority is to have your JAMB Examination Slip in hand. This document is your roadmap for the exam—it contains your specific centre name, your four subjects, and your scheduled time.

JAMB has advised all candidates to ensure they print their slips before April 15th, 2026. Having this done early gives you enough time to plan your visit to the venue.

Step 2: Perform a "Trial Run"

Once you know where your centre is, don't just look it up online—visit it physically. Taking a step further to locate the building before the exam day is a game-changer for your confidence.

  • Involve Your Family: Tell your parents or a relative about your centre. If possible, have them accompany you on your trial visit so they are also familiar with the route.

  • Ask for Directions: Talk to reliable people in the area or fellow students who might know the landmarks.

  • Use Technology: For a modern solution, use Google Maps or any navigation software you prefer. Pin the location so you can see exactly how long the commute takes during morning traffic.

Why This Matters for Your Success

Leaving the task of finding your centre until the morning of the exam is a recipe for disaster. Unexpected road closures, traffic jams, or confusing directions can trigger "exam fever" before you even sit down at the computer.

By knowing exactly where you are going, you eliminate stress and negative emotions, allowing you to arrive at the hall calm, collected, and ready to smash your 300+ goal.

Good luck!
