UNIJOS GST Registration Alert: Deadline Approaching for 100L and 200L Students

Published on Apr 16, 2026 β€’ Education

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has issued an urgent notice to all 100 Level and 200 Level students regarding the ongoing General Studies (GST) registration.

According to the statement signed by the SUG Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nimlam Nankat Rwamko, the registration exercise is moving into its final stages, and students are required to act immediately to secure their academic standing for the semester.

Key Directives for Eligible Students

To ensure a smooth process and avoid last-minute complications, the SUG has outlined the following:

  • Immediate Action Required: Students who are yet to register for their GST courses are strongly advised to do so without further delay.

  • Final Deadline: The registration window is expected to close by the end of the current week.

  • Avoid Penalties: Completing your registration on time is the only way to prevent late-registration penalties or, worse, being excluded from GST examinations and results.

Why GST Registration Matters

General Studies courses are mandatory requirements for graduation at the University of Jos. Failure to register correctly can lead to significant academic inconveniences, including:

  • Inability to sit for continuous assessments.

  • Missing out on the final GST examinations.

  • Delays in academic clearance during your final year.

What You Should Do Now

  1. Verify Your Status: Double-check your portal to ensure your GST courses are properly selected and submitted.

  2. Make Payments (If Applicable): Ensure all necessary fees associated with the GST registration are cleared.

  3. Spread the Word: Inform your course mates and department groups to ensure no one is left behind.

The university community is urged to treat this announcement with the utmost importance.

Thank you.

Signed, Mr. Nimlam Nankat Rwamko Public Relations Officer, S.U.G.
