Ready for Camp? NYSC Announces 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Dates

The wait is finally over for thousands of graduates across the country. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Directorate Headquarters has officially released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course.

In a circular signed by Nura Umar on behalf of the Director-General, the scheme confirmed that the three-week orientation exercise will take place simultaneously in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Whether you’ve been posted to the hills of Jos or the heart of Lagos, it’s time to start packing your "white-and-whites."

Critical Dates for Your Diary
Timing is everything when it comes to the NYSC. Camp officials are known for their strict adherence to deadlines, so make sure you have these dates marked:

Arrival & Commencement: Wednesday, 22nd April 2026

Registration Window: Wednesday, 22nd April – Friday, 24th April 2026

Registration Deadline: Friday, 24th April 2026 (Midnight)

Swearing-in Ceremony: Friday, 24th April 2026

Closing Ceremony: Tuesday, 12th May 2026

Important Note: The registration portal and camp gates will close promptly at midnight on Friday, April 24th. If you arrive late, you risk being sent back and forced to wait for a subsequent stream.

Camp Essentials: What You Must Bring
To ensure a stress-free registration at the parade ground, double-check that you have these documents ready. State Coordinators have been instructed to verify every detail:

Original Call-up Letter: Do not laminate this!

Green Card: Signed and printed.

Original Credentials: Statement of results or certificates.

Medical Certificate of Fitness: This must be from a government or military hospital.

Valid ID: Such as your school ID or a government-issued card.

Quick Tips for a Smooth Orientation
Report Early: Try to get to camp on Wednesday morning. This allows you to settle into your hostel and beat the long registration queues.

Stay Healthy: The orientation involves physical and leadership training. Ensure you are well-rested and prepared for the early morning "Man O' War" drills.
