According to the report, the suspension affects the 2025/2026 academic session, and the students are expected to resume in the 2026/2027 academic session.
Why the Students Were Suspended
The students were suspended over alleged examination malpractice.
The suspension was communicated in an official letter signed by the Director of Administration, Dr Citizen Ekpo, on behalf of the Registrar, Dr Chukwuka Icha.
The university’s Public Relations Unit also confirmed that the decision was approved after the Senate considered the recommendations of the disciplinary committee.
Departments Affected
The affected students were from different departments in the university.
Some of the departments mentioned include Nursing Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, Science Laboratory Technology, Estate Management, Marketing and other programmes.
The university directed deans, heads of departments and relevant offices to enforce the suspension.
What Students Should Learn From This
Examination malpractice can affect a student’s academic progress seriously.
A one-session suspension means the affected students will lose time and may have to wait before continuing their studies.
Students should avoid carrying unauthorised materials into examination halls, copying from others, impersonation, result manipulation or any act that can be treated as academic misconduct.

Important Advice for Students
Students should read their school’s examination rules before sitting for any paper.
Do not enter the exam hall with written notes, phones, smart devices or any material that is not allowed.
If you are not sure whether an item is allowed, ask the invigilator before the exam begins.

ALLCBTs Advice to Students
Examination success should come through preparation, not malpractice.
Students should start reading early, practise past questions, attend classes and ask for help when they do not understand a topic.
Getting suspended for examination misconduct can delay graduation and damage a student’s academic record.
