A UNIZIK student reportedly died after jumping from a three-story.

After reportedly taking hard drugs and jumping from a three-story building at a lodge at Royal Kitchen Junction, Ifite-Awka, a male student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra State, died. This unfortunate event happened on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at around 8:00 p.m.

When witnesses heard a loud thud, they hurried to the site, where they discovered the seriously wounded young guy lying in a pool of blood. The student was declared dead at a neighboring hospital despite attempts to rescue him. Until his family is notified, the victim's identity is being kept confidential.

University Reaction:

Ken Chukwurah, Chief Safety Officer at UNIZIK, acknowledged the event and said the institution is currently looking into what occurred and how. He pointed out that the event took place at a private lodge outside the institution.
