Wait, did you hear that? It’s the sound of thousands of khaki trousers finally being retired. The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially approved Thursday, 21st May, 2026, as the Passing-Out date for all 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream Two Corps Members.

After a year of service to the fatherland—filled with CDS meetings, monthly clearances, and hopefully some great memories—the finish line is finally in sight.

📅 The Winding-Up Timeline

The "freedom" process isn't just a one-day event. Activities begin almost immediately to ensure every outgoing Corps Member is properly prepared for the labor market.

Date Activity
Tuesday, 5th May, 2026 Commencement of Winding-up activities.
Ongoing Job Advisory and Counselling (JAC): Sessions led by NYSC and partner agencies.
Ongoing Final Clearance: Signing of documents by Zonal Inspectors (ZI).
Thursday, 21st May, 2026 Passing-Out Day: Official distribution of Certificates of National Service (CNS).

📜 What to Expect on Passing-Out Day

Following the recent trend of institutional cost-saving and security measures, the event will be a low-key ceremony.

🎖️ A Word from the DG

The Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has extended his congratulations to the outgoing stream. He urged Corps Members to remain "good ambassadors" of the scheme and to let the core values of NYSC—integrity, hard work, and unity—guide their post-service endeavors.

"Allow the core values of the Scheme to guide you in your post-service relationships as good ambassadors of NYSC." — Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu

✅ Post-Service Checklist for "Ex-Corpers"

Before you drop that khaki for the last time, make sure you have these in order:

  1. Final Clearance: Ensure your Zonal Inspector has signed your final papers; without this, no certificate!

  2. Contact Information: Update your dashboard if necessary; you never know when an NYSC-linked job opportunity might pop up.

  3. The Certificate: Treat your Certificate of National Service (CNS) like gold. It is notoriously difficult (and often impossible) to replace if lost.

Congratulations to the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream Two! You’ve served your country; now it’s time to go and conquer the world.
